Lex Horn (1916 - 1968) is one of the most important artists of the post-war period. Horn made an important contribution to modern 'wall art' in the Netherlands. In 1935, Lex Horn started his study Monumental and Decorative Arts at the Rijksacademie as a student of Professor Heinrich Campendonk. After 1945 he made a strong stand for the positioning of monumental art as part of the architecture. For many public buildings, he made monumental sgraffito's, wall paintings, glass appliqués and tapestries.  (Foundation Lex Horn)
